Describe the junction — wall to foundation, window in opening, roof edge at parapet. Get a dimensioned section as editable DXF, with layer buildups grounded in the Romanian and EU normatives that apply to it.

## Detail types

The junctions that take the longest to draw and are the easiest to get wrong.

### Plinth and base details

Wall meeting foundation: damp-proofing turned up the wall, thermal insulation carried below grade, the finish line at ground level, drainage layer.

### Window and door junctions

Frame set in the opening: sill and its projection, lintel, insulation returned at the reveal, sealing sequence inside and out.

### Roof edges and parapets

Flat roof at parapet: waterproofing layers, upstand height, coping, drainage. Pitched roof at eaves: rafter, gutter, ventilation gap.

### Floor and slab buildups

Ground floor on fill, intermediate floor on slab, screed over underfloor heating — with insulation thicknesses that satisfy the thermal requirement.

### Fire-rated assemblies

Compartment wall sections and EI-rated partitions, with the layer composition that supports the required rating under P118-1/2025.

### Fixings and connections

Profile fixed to structure, anchor layouts, base plates — shown at the scale where the fixing itself is legible.

## What grounds the geometry

A detail is wrong in a way that costs money when a thickness is invented. Layer dimensions are taken from the applicable normative and shown with the source, not produced from memory.

| Normative | What it constrains in the detail |
| --- | --- |
| C107 | Thermal resistance of the assembly — insulation thickness, thermal bridge treatment at junctions |
| NP 068 | Dwelling requirements — minimum areas, clear heights, daylight and sill conditions |
| P118-1/2025 | Fire safety — compartment wall composition, rated assemblies, protected openings |
| P100-1/2013 | Seismic design — the structural context a detail must be compatible with |
| Eurocodes | Structural basis where the detail carries or transfers load |

A normative sets the constraint. It does not choose the detail — that stays a design decision, and the drawing tells you which values came from a cited source and which were assumed.

## What you get

Drawing Dimensioned section at detail scale, with material hatches and layer labels

Format DXF, AutoCAD-compatible

Units Millimetres (1 mm = 1 DXF unit) — place at any scale in your sheet

Layers AEC standard — A-WALLS, A-DIMS, A-HATCH, A-TEXT and related

Transparency Each dimension marked as given by you, derived from a source, or assumed

Verification The file is re-read and measured after generation; dimensions that do not match the geometry are reported

## Questions

**Can I issue a generated detail for construction?**

No — not as it comes. It is a working draft that a qualified designer reviews, adapts to the project and signs. What the platform does is make the review targeted: it states which dimensions came from your requirements, which were derived from a cited source, and which it assumed, so you check the assumptions rather than re-verifying everything.

**What if I do not specify a thickness?**

It is either derived from the applicable normative and shown with the source, or assumed and shown as an assumption with the reasoning. It is never inserted silently — an unmarked assumption is exactly what makes a drawing that looks finished and is not.

**Can I change the detail after it is generated?**

Yes. The drawing is editable DXF, so you can work on it in your own CAD application like any other file.

**Which drawing conventions are used?**

Romanian and European drawing practice: millimetre units, AEC layer naming, material hatches by convention, dimensions as real CAD dimension entities rather than drawn lines with text beside them.

**I have a sketch of the detail rather than a description.**
